Mac Cornish – “Trucker’s Cafe”
A growing favorite of the site, Nashville (via California) country crooner Mac Cornish has been steadily entrenching herself in the Tennessee heat following a long stint in Portland. She followed up her truly underrated 2024 album, Never Made Much of a Lover, with a cover of Danny O’Keefe’s touring anthem, “The Road,” and she follows with another classic, recasting the Sylvia Tyson yarn “Trucker’s Cafe” in a slightly more raucous light than the original version put out by Ian & Sylvia. With high sheen twang, you can practically hear this one on the jukebox as bottles clank, shouts ring, and smoke curls around the grease clouds from the kitchen. The new single is out now, with the promise of more to come from Corninsh soon.
