Josephine Network – “Hooked”

Forever fave, and two-time entry on the recent power pop comp I put together, Josephine Network is back with a new single and news of a new album. Josephine’s long been the queen of NYC power pop and if you’ve got notions otherwise, any doubts ought to drip away with the release of “Hooked.” Featuring a familiar lineup of members of Brower behind her, the new single drapes a glam crunch over unshakable choruses. It’s a towering single that bites into the stagelight shimmer of the ’70s. The last few singles have been glazed to perfection, but this is as hi-fi and humming as the Network has sounded yet, really leaning into the studio sheen and larger than life production from Ryan Howe & Josephine. The single is the title track off of Josephine’s new album, Hooked, out March 12th from Lolipop Records.
