Gun Outfit – “Unfelt Loss”

A good year for the return of longtime faves, 2026 now sees the first new album from Gun Outfit. The West Coast band decamped to an 80-acre ranch in Pine Flat, CA, in 2020. Absorbing Wildfire Smoke, the recordings took shape into an album as sprawling as the surroundings. The first single from the set, “Unfelt Loss” cools some of the band’s prior burn. The ghosts of Americana are still haunting their songwriting, but there’s a lightness to the track; a lilt that lifts the strums and softly cooed vocals. The new single opens up the band’s nearly 80-minute new album, Process & Reality. The record is out May 8th from Upset The Rhythm.
