Gold Dust – “Whatever’s Left”
by Andy

Another gem out of the new Gold Dust album this morning sets the next record up as one of Stephen Pierce’s best. Album opener “Whatever’s Left” finds Pierce’s outfit in full on band mode, letting the last shades of private press pondering fall away with the closing chords of The Late Great. Jangling into view on huge strums and a singe of amp fry, the song deals with making peace with life’s circumstances and ingesting the sour sting of grief. It tiptoes into the topic, but by the last few bars the bullshit has been burned away, charred and churned and ready to be turned into fuel for a new day’s fire. The new record, In the Shade of the Living Light, hits the shelves on May 16th, be there to grab it.
