Falling Stars – “Lonley Planets”

More power pop this morning to get your Friday moving. With a crisp wall of guitars and gently sanded harmonies, Falling Stars let loose with new single “Lonely Planets.” The band, featuring Christopher Allen (Rosavelt) and Tim Parnin (Sweet Apple, Cobra Verde), has been humming for a few years yet. They make their Tee Pee debut this year with new album Lonely No More. The album, produced by John Agnello (Dinosaur Jr., Kurt Vile), leans into the ‘90s end of the power pop spectrum, leaving the jangles of the ‘80s behind for a bit more carefree crunch with a slight indie gloss. The band’s love of Guided by Voices telegraphs in the pop bounce, but heavy touches of Sloan and Redd Kross come crashing through in the first single as well. The new album is out October 27th from Tee Pee.
