Color Green – “Ruby”

Avatar

This album has already been racking up heavy time on my speakers and we’re till a few weeks out from it landing proper. L.A.’s Color Green have forged a Cosmic American gem that’s draped in a desert decadence. The first single found the band vamped and swinging, but on “Ruby” they let the heat overwhelm them and sink into a jazz-stung slow saunter that shows off the band’s slide work and patient pacing. The song is coursing with a strange venom, heading woozily towards the finish and laced with a feeling that vacillates between stewed and sinister. The new album is out July 22nd as a collaboration between Aquarium Drunkard and ORG Music. Check out the single below! Also, this week the band will donate proceeds from their Bandcamp sales to Noise For Now in support of Reproductive Justice.
