Chet Sounds – “Wild Things Run Fast”

Another smooth as silk single out of Aussie outfit Chet Sounds. Chet Tucker’s been kicking around these parts for years as part of The Uplifting Bellends, but his solo stint swung into ‘70s AOR territory, finding common ground with contemporaries Winter McQuinn (with or without Beefheart) and Hot Apple Band. Though, Chet might be the one to slide furthest into AM radio territory, taking an admitted love of James Taylor and Carole King to its logical ends. The latest single is a windows down, breeze blowin’ Sunday cruiser. It’s the kind of song that might have woven itself into your DNA as a child, backseat bound and dreaming under the summer sun. Chet offers up a VHS collage video that feels just the right side of nostalgia. The new album, Tying Up Loose Ends, is out March 6th from Third Eye Stimuli.
