Blone Noble – “Weapon of Love”

Avatar

A new single from Curation falls outside of the label’s usual purview. Instead of the outlet’s typical air of country, psych, and folk, the first single from Blone Noble is a cold slice of late ‘70s / early ‘80s synth-pop. With shades of Gary Numan, John Foxx, Giorgio Moroder, and Station To Station Bowie, “Weapon of Love” is draped in a smudged and smeared veneer that reeks of glam’s dark underbelly. Songwriter Pat Salway has spent time playing with Young Guv and Cold Cave, but this debut as Blone Noble finds him crystallizing a sound away from his pop past, exploring pre-dawn narcotic vibrations that creep under the skin. The new single “Weapon of Love” is out now.
