Mod Lang – “What I Can’t Have”

Before the holidays, Mod Lang graced the speakers with a debut single packed with the promise of power pop. A delightful double-shot, the single paired smooth harmonies with a good dose of garage sneer on the flip. As the band cues up a debut LP for Just Add Water Records, they return to the arms of classic power pop on “What I Can’t Have.” Full of strums and sighs, faded jangles, and bittersweet laments, the new single sets up a full length that finds them in welcome company among the ranks of pop purveyors like Billy Tibbals, Uni Boys, and The Lemon Twigs. The band’s debut record Borrowed Time is out February 20th from Just Add Water.
