Wet Tuna – “Epic View”

Lost somewhere in the waves of the holiday weekend, news of a fourth Wet Tuna LP rose over the horizon. The band hit the studio over the past year, honing their dub-slick seance into perfect precision. They open the new album with the wobble wave vision of “Epic View,” a potent distillation of what the band’s been siphoning over the past few years. A liquefied groove gives way to clouds of atmospheric dub, farmhouse funk, and deep forest fusion. The band is both rural and urban, dug out from the future and piped in from the past. It’s been three years since a new Tuna platter was on the shelves, and the time feels right as our collective cultural fever breaks into 2026. The new record features the familiar cast of WT characters; the live core of Matt Valentine, Erika Elder, and Jim Bliss, with additional instrumentation by satellite slingers Ged Gengras, Roe Land, Ain’e Droid, and Coot Moon. Vocals come in from the familial and afar; aided by Samara Lubelski, Vega Valentine, and Dawn Rider. The new record, Vast, is out February 13th from Three Lobed.
