Railcard – “Day Dream”

A new collection from Slumberland and Skep Wax brings together the three E.P.s from Railcard, a new collaboration from members of Dolly Mixture, Heavenly, and Papernut Cambridge. The band is lead by the ever-effusive vocals of Dolly Mixture’s Rachel Love, who was originally brought together with Ian Button and Peter Momtchiloff over a shared birth year of 1962. The band released two EPs alongside a slew of quirky perch items last year and now the two indie pop outposts unite to bring those EPs back alongside three new tracks that make up a trio of small format charmers. The collection is introduced with new track “Day Dream,” a song that’s as smeared in soft focus sighs as that title might imply. Buoyed on strums and the soft skitter of drums, the song hangs on the diaphanous charms of Rachel’s voice, offering up bittersweet billows of indie pop that perfume the speakers. The full collection, rounded up as an eponymous CD is out February 6th from Slumberland and Skep Wax.
