Julian Never – “Push”
by Andy
Smudged and smeared, the indie pop perch of “Push” is a long way from where I first encountered Julian Elorduy so many years ago among the strangled racket of Mayyors. As Julian Never he’s built a new world of pop that weaves through the jangles, jilts, and velour aura of New Wave and synth-pop. “Push” falls neatly into the nest that Elorduy has built, buoyed by strums and cooled by the heavy sigh of his vocal delivery. The song streaks the speakers in steady streams, a bittersweet gem that bodes well for the upcoming new album Everyday Is Purgation, out February 6th from Mt. St Mtn.
