Always catching up over here as January settles in, but It’d be a mistake to overlook this new single from Gregory Uhlmann. After a banner couple of years with SML and his trio with Josh Johnson and Sam Wilkes, the artist is in the solo seat over at International Anthem. Strung through with the guitarist’s textural approach, the new album offers a more tender side of Uhlmann’s work. The first single, featuring Alabaster DePlume on sax, finds his label mate streaking the song with his signature flutter and float. The pair create a working wonderland set against a clockwork rhythm. It’s just a taste of what’s to come on Extra Stars. Uhlmann’s new album slinks out March 6th from International Anthem.
