Daniel Romano’s Outfit – “Servo”

It’s always nice to see a new cut from Daniel Romano’s Outfit. The often breathlessly prolific band has slowed a little bit since last year’s Too Hot To Sleep, a record that found them rankled as ever by rock’s more ripped ends. In the time since they’ve let loose another limited 7”, a live album, and now they cue up one more short form stomper, starting out with the opening track “Servo” this week. Swept up in Romano’s rock n’ soul meets power pop sway, the cut is draped in big riffs, hand-claps, and cool water harmonies. It’s everything you could want out of the Outfit and there’s more on the way with two more tracks rounding out the 7” when it slips out October 3rd from You’ve Changed.
