Mythical Motors – “In Her Second State”

Last year wrapped a pretty excellent run for prolific indie pop project Mythical Motors. 2025 saw a full length from Tenessee songwriter Matt Addison, along with a much needed roundup of his singles and EPs that have hovered in the digital sphere until a CD on Subjangle. This year marks another momentous occasion for the Motors, the first LP, slated for April on Best Brother Records. Locking into his Game Theory-glazed pop pounce, the first single from Tremolo On The Punchline is hooked into a crunch that straddles New Wave and Power Pop, a knife-edge indie balancing act that’s pulled off on the strength of Addison’s heavenly 90 second hooks. The new album is shaping up to be one of the band’s best, all the more reason to cheer for the vinyl release. Tremolo On The Punchline is out April 10th from Beset Brother Records.
