A second single out of the upcoming Ty Segall LP sets this new album up as one of his best. “Possession” dips in with a shaggy shake before bursting through the speakers with a gleeful grind of guitars, towering harmonies, and a rosy glow of brass. The embroidered embellishments on the new album are some of the most fun moments on the upcoming Possession, glinting with rhinestone glitter and perfectly tarnished charms. I’m always a sucker for whatever Segall is selling, but this album has all the earmarks of some of his most monumental releases. The title track is out today and the new album hits the shelves on May 30th from Drag City.
