Teddy and the Rough Riders – “Catfish Summer”

Just what the summer swamp called for, a refreshing country cooler from Teddy and the Rough Riders! The band announces a new album, Down Home, this week and they lead off with the crisp and clear strains of “Catfish Summer.” The song wraps the band’s honeyed harmonies around a bit of Nashville twang. Curling at the edges with just a touch of the cosmic ramble, but for the most part feeling like a ‘70s Canyon romp, it’s already looking like a song that won’t leave the speakers for a while. The band’s been a favorite around here for a few years and “Catfish Summer” rolls its riffs in every reason why they’ve been a staple on the site. The new record, Down Home, is out October 11th, from Appalachia Record Co.
