Tacoma Park – “Lizard Brain”

This one cropped up here last year when the band self-released it, but 2024 brings a wider reissue of Tacoma Park’s eponymous debut. The duo of John Harrison (Jphonol, the Comas) and Benjamin David Felton (Blood Revenge, Shark Quest) close out the new version of the album with the previously unreleased track “Lizard Brain.” Floating in a kosmiche swirl of guitars, the cut dives into the headiest end of the band’s depths. Synths and strings melt into one another in a slow whirlpool of sound that pulls the listener under. Check out the new track with an appropriately disorienting video to match. The new edition offers up the first CD version of the album alongside the expanded digital. It’s out now from Centripetal Force.
