Sweat – “Jane”

A towering glam stomp echoes out of Pittsburgh’s Sweat. The debut Tee Pee single from the band is hung heavy with the storm of the ‘70s. Swerving away from the plaid stomp of Slade and the bubblegum of Sweet, the PA wreckers pick up on a sneer set with handclaps that’s somewhere along the Quatro, Fanny, Blue Oyster Cult axis. They let just a bit of dry ice and porto-prog aesthetics fatten up the sounds into something that’s born out of the past, but certainly not aiming to Xerox the details in the same order. The first single is out now, more details to come on what’s next.
