Supercrush – “Following The Taillights”

This one snuck out over the weekend, but definitely deserves a weekday spotlight. Seattle power pop trio Supercrush offer up a tender tribute to their late guitarist Sean Meyer. Written in the wake of Sean’s passing, the song recalls a tense drive through a blizzard in the mountains of Utah and Wyoming. You’d be hard pressed to feel the tension, though, as the song blends its soft heart with stadium-sized riffs. Wistful, joyful, and exhuberant, the song is a gauzy-eyed shredder that feels like just the kind of send off anyone would love. Recorded by the band’s own Phil Jones and mixed by Justin Pizzoferrato, the new single is out now.
