Saapato – Spring at Home

It’s honestly been a lot to process these past few weeks and with a promised onslaught of daily trials of the spirit in the future, I hate to concede that some respite is necessary. Admittedly, there are times when the world just needs to be shut out, if only for an hour or so. Local soundscape artist Saapato has just the fix for 47 minutes of brain scrub before setting foot back in the fire. Based around field recordings captured last year, the piece features an array of birds and pond life recorded around a small farm in Milan, NY. The field recordings are then woven with synthesizers that are meant to mirror the wide assemblage of animal life. Both the field recording and synth accompaniment weave into a serene tapestry that cools the social coals for just a moment. Considering we’re heading into the bleak maw of winter, its nice to have a little nature on hand when you need it. The piece is out now as a cassette and digital release from Aural Canyon.
