Rún – Terror Moon (Edit)
You can alway count on Rocket to scour the darkest corners of the seance for some ritualistic psych. The label lobs a new one in our direction this week with a peek into the debut album from Irish trio Rún. The pounding drums introduces “Terror Moon” followed shortly by squalls and bass. The song pounds like blood in the ears, hot and hollow, rushing through the skull in panicked percussion. The song stalks the listener, with synths howling over the crash and crush of those ever present drums. Above the fray, Tara Baoth Mooney’s vocals hover in interstellar incantation, a curse to the cosmos that bounces around the headspace. Hit the headphones for this one, it elevates the experience exponentially. The band’s eponymous debut is out August 22nd from Rocket Recordings.
