pôt-pot – WRSW

An atmospheric itcher out of the always reliable Felte label today. The first single from Irish band pôt-pot scratches at an existential ache; a song looking for relief after long periods lost in the darkness. Atop a lock-step beat, the band churns tension and tumult with the cut’s almost resigned vocals. “WRSW” is pent up and ready to rupture, but the boil is all beneath the lyrical horizon. With that froth behind him, the band’s Mark Waldron-Hyden puts on a facade of calm, appearing casually collected and a bit ponderous rather than risk soaking in the sweat of the instrumental fray. The duality drives the track, giving the listener a nice look under the hood of their upcoming new album, Warsaw 480km. The new record is out September 19th from Felte.
