Mo Dotti – “Whirling Sad”

A second stomper slips out from Mo Dotti this week. Soaked in static, the band pushes weaves the line between shoegaze haze and ‘90s fuzz-pop glazer. Scooped out of the SST deep end and baked under a Creation sun, the song tightropes across a rubber cement bass line, goo-ed and glued to the bedrock, beset by a swarm of static-fed guitars and sweetly stung vocals. The band lets the ‘90s vibes sink deeper into the woodwork with a suitably swirling video that’s as dizzy as the cut itself. The band’s latest, Opaque, finds its way out September 20th.
