Mo Dotti – “Lucky Boy”

Mo Dotti band has been corralling the haze over the last couple of years on a series of EPs and singles, and the band teases their debut LP with a new single, “Lucky Boy.” The group sends the listener down the whirlpool and straight through a ‘90s delirium, balancing beat and bliss with the best of ‘em. The band’s strength lies in the balance of euphoric hooks with a dose of tumultuous shoegaze that comes to a crest as the song peaks, turning their sweetness to squall with a deft hand. As at ease on the shelf with the current crop of glazed pop purveyors from Aluminum and Dummy to Seablite, as they are with their ‘90s North Stars, Ride, The Sundays, and Chapterhouse, the new single leaves the listener levitating and waiting for more. The new album, Opaque, is out September 20th.
