Mike Polizze – “Around Sound”

Perennial favorite Mike Polizze (Purling Hiss, Birds of Maya) cues up a second solo album for Paradise of Bachelor’s that digs into his pensive side. Polizze’s always had a songwriter’s soul underneath the deluge of damage that has swirled around his previous bands. The tender heart often peeked through the grease on Hiss records and he fully embraced the impuses on 2020’s Long Lost Solace Find. Where that record opened the door, Around Sound sees him walk through it confidently. The title track lays into a country-baked bucolic ease. Acoustics ripple over the twang and Mike’s sour mash vocals leave a lingering scent of oak and ache on the air. The new album, Around Sound, is out July 11th from Paradise of Bachelors.
