MIEN – “Evil People”

Been a few years since I’ve found MIEN on the scene, but the band returns this week with a new single and news of an upcoming album for Fuzz Club. The band, featuring members of aughts faves Black Angels and The Earlies, serves up a propulsive new single. “Evil People” pulses and throbs, racked with the rhythm and menace that marked their eponymous 2018 debut. Over the pound of drums the band laces smoke and shadow, a kosmiche mixture of synths and mantra-like vocals that lull the listener into a hypnotic state. The new cut comes accompanied with a digital deluge of a video that helps to underscore the song’s smeared seance. The new album, MIIEN, is out April 18th from Fuzz Club.
