Lynn Avery & Cole Pulice – “Pale Moon Flower”

Another batch of singles seeps out from the upcoming new collaboration between Lynn Avery & Cole Pulice. The pair’s previous outing, To Live & Die In Space & Time, was a favorite around here and returning to the studio the pair continues to create works that remain intimate despite the players’ physical distance from one another. Layered works lull the listener into their cocoon of calm, a woolen wonderland that weaves jazz and electronics into nested tangles. The new album finds the pair not only collaborating with each other, but bringing others into the fold as well, and “Pale Moon Flower” features Charlie Bruber on upright bass. Elsewhere the pair collaborates with Bay Area trumpet player and composer Ambrose Akinmusir. The new record, Phantasy & Reality is out November 15th from Moon Glyph.
