King Khan & Mary Ocher – “Search The Brady Landfill”

There’s always a ton coming out of the King Khan camp these days, and it’s hard to keep up, but worth keeping an eye on his Bandcamp for one off gems among the steady stream of albums. On the heels of an announcement of a new album on the way from his jazz ensemble, he’s also just offered up a scathing cut featuring fellow artists Mary Ocher and Choyce. With searing guitars and an ominous tone, the song implores the Canadian government to search for the bodies of slain indigenous women in the Winnipeg area, whose remains have been deemed ‘not feasible’ to find in a landfill that’s believed to have been used by their recently captured killer. All proceeds from this song will go to Camp Morgan, managed by Cambria Harris, daughter of victim Morgan Harris and there are additional outlets provided at the Bandcamp to assist the Winnipeg indigenous community.
