Kids on a Crime Spree – “All Things Fade”

More jangled joy rockets out of the Slumberland stable this week. Following a second slice of The Reds, Pinks & Purples album yesterday the label lets out another peek into the upcoming Kids on a Crime Spree LP. Hard to call this one highly anticipated, more like a surprise I never saw coming, as the band’s been laying low outside of a few splits for the better part of a decade, but Fall In Love Not In Line is well worth the wait. “All Things Fade” presents a bit tougher take on the band’s sound than their first single, with a pounding beat crashing in the ears alongside fuzz knuckled guitars. They split the seed between garage-greased power pop’s latter day fizz and the indie pop well that’s long been their source of inspiration. The song is a dark streak among their catalog of candy-coated hits, but the shift looks good on ‘em. Check out the breathless video above and nab the new LP January 21st when it lands.
