Julie Beth Napolin – “Only The Void Stands Between Us”

A lovely new single out of the Silver Current stable today finds Julie Beth Napolin (Citay, Meridians) embarking on a solo debut. The songwriter taps into the darker waters of psych folk, collaborating with Tom Carter on the album opener and taking inspiration Michael Hamburger’s translation of Paul Celan’s “So Many Constellations.” The song swirls around the listener, trading acoustic and electric strings as Napolin’s voice floats in the darkness above. Feeling at home with either the ‘70s psych-folk set or the early aughts revival, the title track is a gorgeous opener to the upcoming album Only the Void Stands Between Us. The record is out November 29th from Silver Current Records.
