Idle Ray – “Corridors Of Summer”


Friday was positively stuffed with new music, so, naturally, some slipped through the cracks. If you missed out on this new single from Idle Ray, it’s not too late to nab it this morning. With an expanded lineup from Fred Thomas’ debut under the name last year, the new single shifts towards female lead vocals and a hazed shimmer under its strums. A bittersweet sway gives way to caustic fuzz on the keys, burning away the Kodachrome nostalgia like cigarette marks on film. It’s nice to see the band returning after one of the year’s best in ’21, and with an expanding sound as well, not resting in place, pushing towards a bigger pop sound. No word if this is just a standalone or part of a bigger picture as of yet, but it should definitely find its way into your collection.
