Just the thing to get you over the halfway point of the day, Horse Lords return with another new single from their upcoming Comradely Objects and it’s as beautifully untethered as their last. Disjointed guitars scratch and fester before the sax cartwheels into view, knocking rhythms left and right with a free jazz mind churn. “May Brigade” finds the band at their best, chewing on sound with a rabid spirit that underlies their academic approach. Horse Lords remain some of the best at balancing avant-squelch with angular anguish and few songs embody that dynamic more than “May Brigade.” The bands new album is out November 4th from RVNG.
