A good day for the Aussies around here and the next bit of excellence come from the upcoming LP by Grace Cummings. Grace presents a live version of “Up In Flames” from her forthcoming Storm Queen. Like the album version, this rooftop rendition presents Cummings in her full power, echoing her rapturous voice out over the hillsides. While Grace’s song’s can embrace many moods the songs that drew me in first were in the mod of “Up In Flames” — commanding, raw, ripped at the seems. Her voice is a powerful pulpit unto itself, drawing listeners in with its unvarnished edges, resplendent in its sheer magnitude. The record arrives January 14th via ATO, presenting a more shaded vision of her folk prowess.
