Gloria – “Eleusis”

I feel like the thick plumes of forest folk feel most apt during the autumn months, but the smoke and cinder act as a nice winter warmer as well. French psych-folk outfit Gloria return with a third outing, weaving their works through the hair shirt trad folk of Trees and the fine gossamer threads of Fairport and The Mamas & The Papas. While the scented stirrings among the instrumentation are intoxicating, it’s the vocal interplay that remains the band’s strongpoint, drawing listeners in to be dashed upon their layered luxury. “Eleusis” wafts into place on the band’s upcoming album, III, out April 4th from Howlin’ Banana Records.
