Elkhorn – “The Golden Lag, pt. 1”

The treasures keep coming today and the latest tape from Blue Hole is among them. The label’s focus on acoustic excellence has lead them to releases from Joesph Allred, Eli Winter, Matthew Rolin, and Cameron Knowler and now they fold Elkhorn into their stable. The Golden Lag was recorded live last October for a livestream done for Rhizome DC, bringing their oft compatriot Turner Wiliams in virtually from Marseilles. The improvisation, which spans both sides of this upcoming tape finds the band in pure acoustic form, with Drew on 6 string, Jesse on 12, and Turner on Shahi Baaja. The first part tangles in the breeze with both guitars rippling over Williams’ stark atmospheric touches. The tape is out November 5th and limited to 100.
