Consumables – “Great Design”

We Are Time break out of their Canadian confines to pick up the post-punk jitters of NYC’s Consumables. The band’s first single for the label is “Great Design” a propulsive piece pummeled with synths and strangled with strums. Produced by Bodega’s Ben Hozie, the new album laps at the cultural void, aloof and leering, but with a nugget of truth caught in its teeth. “Great Design” introduces the record well, gnawing on the speaker wires and passing the pulse on to the listener. The band’s debut, Infinite Games, is out on We Are Time and Fierce Panda on March 7th.
