Comet Gain – “Beat of the Veins”

The band boasts many imitators, but there’s never quite been an heir that could capture the ‘60s gone grunge splatter of Comet Gain. Thankfully, the band is still kicking out a steady stream of swingers and they’re setting up a new album for this summer with the single “Beat of The Veins.” As the song shakes the brain out of its numb slumber with a crack of drums, 20 oz of organ, and ten ton strums, they pair it with a 60’s-saturated video that threatens to sop the synapses in a visual overload. A mod-era montage lobbied at top speed, the video matches the band’s frantic pulse on “Beat of the Veins.” The cut leaves the listener breathless with the smell of rubber and exhaust filling their senses. It’s all part of the fun on Letters To Ordinary Outsiders, out June 6th from Tapete.
