Cole Pulice – “Fragments of a Slipstream Dream”

Another cut hits the speakers today from one of my most anticipated of 2025. Cole Pulice has racked up a wealth of collaborations and come into their own as a key purveyor of ambient jazz and esoteric float in the last few years. Following the massive first single, the 9+ minute closer “After The Rain,” Cole lets the album opener out into the air as well. “Fragments of a Slipstream Dream” is much more shrouded than most of the new album, which is largely entangled in a three part suite covering ground that spans Pulice’s past catalog with wondrous depth. The opener thrums with a fuzzed drone, lacing Cole’s sax over the top in unusually staccato bursts. A bit less sanded than some of their works, the song bristles the listener, jostling the senses on the way into the new album, Land’s End Eternal. The new record is out May 9th from LEAVING.
