Chuck Johnson (feat. Cole Pulice) – “Sylvanshine”
A second single from the upcoming Chuck Johnson LP today and it brings together Johnson with another RSTB fave. The track finds the guitarist collaborating with Cole Pulice, whose works in electronics and jazz have been eagerly received around here. “Sylvanshine” hangs in the morning mists — a calm, spectral piece that hangs like dew from every surface. Pulice adds their trademark muted reeds to the mix, their delivery cottony and cocooned, dawning over Johnson’s strums in the orange and amber hues of an early sun. The two make a perfect pair — tender foils for one another’s style. Johnson’s new album, Sun Glories, features further collaborations with Clarice Jensen, Emily Packard, and Ryan Jewell. The album is out August 16th from Western Vinyl.
