Brown Horse – “Sunfisher”

A bolt of Americana comes careening out of the UK via Norwich’s Brown Horse. The band embraces a roots-forward sound with an overcast outlook parrying with the band’s melancholy yet glowing fiddle work. New single, “Sunfisher” ambles onto the speakers with a guarded glare, opening itself up as the cut grows in intensity over the first few minutes. The track culls from the more blistered underbelly of the American country canon – picking at bits of Drive By Truckers, Uncle Tupelo, Silver Jews, and Magnolia Electric Co. The new album, Reservoir, finds its way out January 19th from Loose Music.
