Brown Horse – “Corduroy Couch”

The last record from UK country kickers Brown Horse spent a bit of time on the speakers around here and the band follows quickly on last year’s Reservoir with a new LP on the way this Spring. First single “Courduroy Couch” grabs hold of Alt-Country’s dented charm, letting the band’s roughed-up twang tussle with the vocal interplay between Patrick Turner and Phoebe Troup. The song has a worn and patched feeling to it, evoking the comfort and familiarity of the titular piece of furniture, a stalwart fixture that’s been there in good times and bad. The new album, All The Right Weaknesses, finds its way out April 4th from Loose Music.
