The catalog of Perpetual Doom is always packed with surprises and this low-key release upcoming from perennial fave Lee Baggett and Japanese songwriter Blind Dead Timmy boasts some real gems among its runtime. Album opener “Sea Wizard (Umibouzu 海坊主)” finds Timmy at the helm, a country-folk ramble that saunters slow, with a slight crackle of age glazed over the top. The song is rocked by gentle breezes, a comfortable creep into the week. The new record, Strings Across The Water, is out July 28th.
