Battle Elf – “Behind the Wilderness”
by Andy

The first single from Detroit trio Battle Elf sends the listener deep into the cavernous cross-sections of psych, jazz, German Progressive, and Kosmiche. Album opener “Behind the Wilderness” tumbles on turbulent percussion and a seething squelch. Featuring members of Universal Indians, Infinite River, and Racehorses are Resources, the new band finds a balance between noise and the cosmic reaches of the psychedelic spectrum. Built on a double guitar gauntlet, the band’s upcoming record on Birdman promises to leave a few scorch marks on the psyche. The new record, 10, is out May 2nd.
