One more out of the West today, slipping away from the jangles and towards a power pop crunch. Santa Cruz’ Autos lock into the big hooks of fist wave power poppers bringing to mind Raspberries, The Boys, and Teenage Head with just a touch of Milk n’ Cookies’ pout. Like fellow West Coasters Uni Boys, the band’s sound retains a classic cut with enough update to feel fresh even with its gaze in the rearview. Keeping things car-centric, the song muses on aimless drives with the wind in your hair. It’s a sunny California classic that’s ready for warmer days to come. The band’s eponymous debut EP is out June 13th from Dandy Boy.
