Autocamper – “Red Flowers”

Another sweet jangler from Manchester’s Autocamper this week. “Red Flowers” takes a slower pop path than their previous singles, slipping a bit of ‘60s folk and sunshine-pop into the mix as well. The band has professed a love for the Curt Boettcher canon, and in the mode of The Millennium or Sagittarius they lace in strums and flute to lighten the lament on the new single. Bittersweet piano picks its way into the song before the band lets the cut bloom into fragrant forms. Sliding a bit closer to the E6 than C86, the new single lingers nicely on the Spring air. The new album, What Do You Do All Day?, is out July 11th from Slumberland.
