Artsick – “Ghost of Myself”

Avatar

Hell, I’ve had a good run this week with Slumberland, let’s go for three in a row. Artsick’s Fingers Crossed is the debut from Christina Riley (Burnt Palms), Mario Hernandez (Kids On A Crime Spree) and Donna McKean (Lunchbox) a trio of indie vets if there ever was one. They bring the jangle to the front on “Ghost of Myself,” a sprightly indie pop tumble that’s full of sunshine strums, popcorn drums, and Riley’s effervescent vocals. The band’s timeless delivery finds them wedged somewhere between the Talulah Gosh and Look Blue Go Purple sprinters of the past while finding an easy home with the current stable at Slumberland. The new record is out January 21st.
