April Magazine – “Shrine”

Avatar

Last week I mentioned that SF favorites April Magazine have a new album out soon on Paisley Shirt Records. The first single “Shrine” now gains a visual accompaniment, animated by the band’s Peter Gray Hurley. The song is a standout from their upcoming cassette, capturing the kind of quiet crush that Galaxie 500 or Bedhead created before them. As I mentioned previously the track is living in the space between tape hiss and recycled air and floating on hazed sunbeams of sound. The video adds a nice flipbook, DIY aesthetic to the song. The new album is out this Friday, July 16th.
