Eric Silverman – “Living The Dream”
One of LA’s premiere purveyors of Cosmic Americana, Eric Silverman last surfaced with an essential album on perennial RSTB hangout Curation Records. He cues up a new one, this time for Royal Oakie, still threading the quicksilver needle of psych, AOR, and ‘70s Cocaine Cowboy territory. “Living The Dream” saunters onto the speakers, a woozy, prog-breathed vision of nightlife and transient glamour. Silverman envisioned the track as an Eagles-y slide through hotel rooms and hot nights, a desert-dazed delirium of substances that slip away until the sun crawls over the horizon. Like his excellent cut, “All In My Head,” the song is anchored by the slippery synth work of Adam McDougall (Circles Around The Sun) and he makes for an excellent addition to the haze here. The new album, Bitter Honey, is out May 29th from Royal Oakie.
