Vacant Gardens – “World Inside The Ocean”

Avatar

The prolific output of Glenn Donaldson knows no bounds, with an essential album from The Reds, Pinks and Purples already out and his work with SF Band The Telephone Numbers already on the books for the year you can add the sophomore album from Vacant Gardens to the list as well. His duo with Jem Fanvu explores more clouded territory, finding some 4AD vibes under the waves of processed guitar fuzz and pale-pink corrosion. With their hooks in Flying Saucer attack and Pale Saints territory, the pair slow things down to a summer swelter, steaming the listener’s subconscious in radiant decay. The LP is sold out at the source, but the digital remains for those who want to enter the catacombs of crush that Vacant Gardens have carved out.
